Earn Your Master’s Certified Business Intermediary Designation
The IBBA offers an annual 10-month collegiate style program for advanced level Business Brokers who currently hold their CBI designation. This program is intended for those who are interested in continuing in deals within the main street and general marketplace up to the low seven-figure dollar range.
Developed and taught by seasoned Business Brokers, the IBBA Master’s Program provides experience-based instruction in a flexible and affordable format for busy professionals. The Master’s CBI program design goes beyond the nuts and bolts of brokerage by enhancing knowledge, abilities, and skills to close more deals quicker, and with greater efficiency, creating opportunities to earn more annual commission.

You are already among an elite group of Business Brokers holding their CBI. Showcase your commitment to continual growth in your field. The MCBI program is an intensive, 10-month program that is held monthly throughout the year.
Live sessions are led by highly qualified Business Brokers and are usually held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. The session spans January through November, skipping May for the IBBA Annual Conference.

Master’s CBI Program GuideApplication Process
The fee for the Master’s Course is $2,300
Applications are reviewed by a committee of MCBIs and based on criteria such as education, experience, and tenure to ensure high-quality students. Cohorts are limited in size. Once notified of acceptance, students will have 3 business days to confirm and purchase their registration.
To be eligible for the MCBI Program, students must:
- Be a current CBI Holder
- Have at least 5 years of experience in Business Brokerage
- Show a track record of successful sales history including sales of at least 10 businesses
- Be an active participant in IBBA activities (i.e. Board Member, workshop presenter, course instructor, Market Pulse participation, committees, etc.)
- Have maintained IBBA Membership for 3 consecutive years
- Provide a personal statement of 750 words or more
